ST Seeks Outreach Coordinator

Sustainable Tompkins is searching for an Outreach Coordinator to provide leadership in nonprofit communications, marketing, and digital technology.  We are offering flexible, part-time work with good benefits, and a leadership role in the local sustainability movement.

The Outreach Coordinator will oversee communications for the organization and be responsible for developing a marketing and fundraising program.  Distribution of duties includes:

  1. Marketing (60%): website and social media management, preparation of newsletters and press releases, brochures and exhibits, fundraising materials.
  2. Fundraising (35%): special events and campaigns, supporter and sponsor cultivation, donor database management.
  3. Information Technology (5%): maintain hardware, software, web platforms, and supplies.

The position is based in Ithaca, NY and will be part-time to start (24 hrs/wk) with generous leave and retirement benefits.

The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the CEO and Climate Fund Coordinator and report jointly to the Board of Directors as part of a collaborative management structure. Applicants must have some marketing and design experience and familiarity with the technical tools needed for developing outreach materials and online marketing.
