This program was offered as a seminar series between September 2004 and December 2005 on sustainability, with the goal of providing a monthly venue where the leaders, volunteers, and partners of Sustainable Tompkins could learn more about both the specific practical tasks of living more sustainably as well as the process of leading the sustainability movement. The 14 classes featured guest speakers from a wide variety of disciplines leading advanced inquiry into the work of serving as change agents and advocates for sustainability. Leaders from the national sustainability movement (such as Betsy Taylor of the Center for a New American Dream) conducted the master class along with local educators in fields such as systems thinking, social movement theory, and green building.
