Ithaca is lucky to have my next guest Lily Gershon, who stumbled upon us by virtue of finding the land to build her home.. Lily is one of the six friends who moved here several years ago to begin work on the Dacha Project, a sustainable homestead in Freeville.  The Dacha Project now has two beautiful green buildings erected by its residents,  and serves as a local model for sustainable living.  Meanwhile, in her breaks from plastering and planting Lily has also been busy coordinating and growing  the Ithaca Freeskool, which now offers over 30 interesting classes each semester to anyone who wishes to attend.  Lily invited me out to the Dacha, where I was able to see first-hand all the exciting things they are doing out there, and to sit with her at their kitchen table for this chat.
