Sustainable Tompkins provided the Caroline Food Pantry with money to help fund a fence around the food pantry garden.    This is a volunteer-run garden that provides produce exclusively for the food pantry.  The fence was constructed in the spring of 2010, and it proved to be a great asset.  Yields in the garden were noticeably higher than in years past.  We had some minor animal damage (mostly groundhogs), but it was easy to see where they were getting in, so we were able to trap them and tighten up the fence as needed.  We’re very grateful for the help Sustainable Tompkins was able to provide.  It made a big difference to people in Caroline.  Thank you!
